A man in his 40s has been arrested following the discovery of four shotguns and a revolver in Dublin last night.
The guns were found in a car in Tallaght just before 10pm, after gardai on routine mobile patrol observed a car speeding.
Following a short pursuit, the car stopped at Ardmore Gardens in Tallaght.
The driver remained in the car while the front and rear passengers fled.
The car was searched and four shotguns, 3 of which were previously reported to be stolen, along with a revolver and ammunition, were seized.
The man is detained at Tallaght Garda Station where he can be held for up to 72 hours.
