A man has been arrested and charged in connection with criminal damage to one of Dublin's Luke Kelly statues.
The memorial to the late singer on South King Street had white paint thrown on it on June 24th.
The bronze sculpture, that sits close to the Gaiety Theatre, was later restored by specialist cleaners.
A man in his 40s is due before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning in connection with the investigation.
The statue to the folk musician was unveiled in January last year. On the same day a marble bust of the Dubliner's singer was officially revealed on Guild Street.
The statue in the north inner city has been subject to vandalism numerous times, leading to calls for it to be moved elsewhere in the city.
