A 28-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Peter Donnelly on Dublin's O'Connell Street earlier this week.
Damien Singleton, of no fixed abode, appeared before Dublin District Court this morning over the death, which occurred in the early hours of last
Tuesday.
Mr. Singleton was wearing a dark green t shirt and grey pants and had a cast on his arm for this morning's Dublin District Court sitting.
His solicitor told the judge her client had sustained a severe hand injury, and underwent surgery on Wednesday evening.
The court heard he made no reply when the charges of murder and possession of a knife were put to him last night at Store Street Garda Station.
39 year old Peter Donnelly, from Kilkenny, died on O'Connell Street after being stabbed.
The court was told the accused is not working and is receiving social welfare.
He's been granted free legal aid and remanded in custody at Cloverhill to appear in court again, via videolink, next Tuesday.
