Gardaí are investigating a fatal shooting in Finglas last night.
Emergency services were alerted to reports of shots fired shortly before 7pm after a man aged in his early 20s was shot outside a residence on Barry Drive.
He was treated at the scene by emergency personnel before being removed by ambulance to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
No arrests have been made and forensic officers are currently examining the scene.
The Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination is due to take place this afternoon.
