Stopping the spread of Covid-19 is the toughest challenge Dublin city has faced, according to the Lord Mayor.
People in the capital are being encouraged to break the chains of transmission by reducing their social contacts, with an average of 104 cases in Dublin reported each day.
The National Public Health Emergency team believes the numbers could double over the next two weeks.
Lord Mayor Hazel Chu says people need to be strong and work together:
"It comes in cycles as well, we had a period there where we were slightly lower, now it [infection rate] is going up again."
"So it will come in peaks and troughs."
"But it we will come to the stage where we're at the end of the tunnel though."
"What I'd say to people is: Stay strong. I know it's very very hard."
"I think this is the toughest challenge we have faced, and we will face it."
"We will get through it."

Lord Mayor Urges Dubliners To 'Band Together As A Community'
Hazel Chu has also said Dubs will come together if more restrictions are brought in.
However, the Lord Mayor says sticking to the current guidelines is the key for now:
"If NPHET or the CMO comes and says we need more restrictions, then so be it."
"We will band together as a community and comply."
"But for the mean time I'd also say, adhere to the restrictions and the guidelines that are there."
"Adhere to the overall safety measures as well."
