Huge tailbacks are being reported throughout Dublin and on roads across the country as part of a clampdown on Covid-19 restrictions.
132 Garda checkpoints have been set up nationwide as part of Operation Fanacht.
This will involve a series of stops on main routes as well as in towns and villages.
Gardaí will not have enforcement powers but if compliance becomes a problem, they will be requested.

New restrictions are now in effect.
people are being asked to stay in their county and work from home where possible.
Just 25 people can attend weddings and funerals and only outdoor dining is allowed in pubs and restaurants.
