The K Club in County Kildare is preparing to light up our evenings with lashings of laughter courtesy of The K Club Live’s brand new series of stand-up comedy nights.
Featuring some of the funniest folk from across the country, the iconic resort has captured the highest calibre of comedians to create a string of special showcases set to be fizzing with fun from start to finish. Each Saturday night show will feature two main comedic talents, with an equally entertaining MC hosting the revels.
The series kicks off on Saturday 24th February when one of Ireland’s most popular comedians Karl Spain will MC a rambunctious night presenting a duo of brilliant breakout stars who are both arriving to The K Club fresh from their own national tours. Dubliner Emma Doran (a familiar voice as co-host on FM104’s The Strawberry Alarm Clock) will delight with her wickedly funny tales of delinquency that have lead her onto the Today Show and Prime Video’s first Irish Comedy Production ‘LOL Ireland’ alongside Graham Norton.
John Colleary is one of the most in-demand comics around having co-written and starred in IFTA nominated shows, The Savage Eye (RTE2) and Irish Pictorial Weekly (RTE1). You’ll soon see why the inventive and brilliant satire from Tommy Tiernan’s ‘favourite comedian’ has previously scooped him a PPI award for his topical sketch writing and performance on Today FM’s drivetime flagship, The Last Word.
Next up, Saturday 23rd March sees Barry Murphy's riotous German alter ego, Gunther, setting up an evening of excitingly unpredictable live shenanigans beginning with Irish comedy’s new wonderkid (in his mid-30s) Shane Daniel Byrne. Performing at The K Club after sold-out runs in the Edinburgh Fringe and the Dublin Fringe, the award-winning comedian who became insta-famous during lockdown will give a glimpse of the masterful material from his current touring show ‘But He’s Gay’.
Next up, hailed ‘a comedy god’ by critics, Jason Byrne’s original brand of high-energy, intelligent lunacy that made him the biggest selling comedian ever at the Edinburgh Fringe will keep the laughs coming in a night where stars are born, friendships are formed, and mascara is ruined.
