We’ve heard of the dog eating your homework excuse but this takes the biscuit!
Lily Allen has admitted that she had to return her adopted dog after it ate her and her children’s passports.
The LDN singer told the story of the unfortunate incident on a recent episode of her podcast Miss Me? which she hosts with her best friend Miquita Oliver.

“We actually did adopt a dog already, but then it ate my passport and so I took her back to the home,” Lily explained to Miquita.
This turned out to be even more of a headache when it also chowed down her children’s passports and it meant they couldn’t travel back to the UK!
“She ate all three of our passports and they had our visas in. And I cannot tell you how much money it cost me to get everything replaced, because it was Covid so it was just an absolute logistical nightmare.”
Allen is a London native living in New York with her two children and American husband David Harbour. However the father of her kids lives in the UK and they often need to travel back and forth to see him.
“Because the father of my children lives in England, I couldn’t take them back to see their dad for like four months, five months because this f***ing dog had eaten the passports.”
Talk about a logistical nightmare! We can’t blame her for having conflicting feelings about the pooch after that.
“And I just couldn’t look at her. I was like ‘You’ve ruined my life.”
