It's suggested fitness trackers which are designed to help you keep in shape might not help you lose weight.

A two-year long study of nearly 500 overweight people found those who used the wearable technology, like Fitbit, lost fewer kilograms than those who didn't.

Researchers say it's possible participants using the trackers may have felt they were able to reward themselves with "treats" more than the others.
