Parts of Ireland could be hit by "significant accumulations of snow " later this week. According to Met Eireann, the coming days will continue to be very cold.
A yellow snow-ice warning has been issued for the whole country until midday on Saturday.
The forecaster states: "Continuing very cold for the remainder of the week with widespread frost, ice and lying snow in places. Further wintry falls in parts of the southwest, west and north today but the showers will ease la
"On Thursday, a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow will move in accompanied by strong easterly winds. Significant accumulations of snow are possible on high ground and with some accumulations to lower-levels at times."

Wednesday
Today will start frosty and icy. It will be a mainly bright, sunny and dry day with the odd winter flurry. Top temperatures of just 3 to 5C.
Wednesday night will be very cold and frosty with icy patches. Some mist and fog will form. Freezing fog could develop in parts.
Lowest temperatures of -2 to -4 C in fresh breezes.
Thursday
Thursday will be cold and breezy with outbreaks of rain and sleet. Snow will fall on high ground and mountains. High temperatures of 3 to 4 C in a stiff breeze.

Thursday Night
Very cold and frosty with icy roads and some lying snow. It will be windy for a time with a mix of rain, sleet and snow.
Munster and south Leinster will be hit with the heaviest snow, with some significant accumulations in places. The weather will clear southwards later in the night with gusty winds.
Temperatures will drop below zero between -2 and -5 C, but zero or 1 degree along south and south east coasts.
Friday
Very cold with some wintry showers in coastal areas. It will be dry with spells of winter sunshine inland. Temperatures will range between 2-6 degrees across the country.
Friday Night
Friday night will be bitterly cold with severe frost and icy conditions. Lows of -2 to -4 C. Most places will be dry with a few wintry showers.
Saturday
Frost and ice will clear slowly in bright weather. It will be mainly dry with a few light wintry flurries in coastal areas. Top afternoon temperatures of 5 to 7 C.
Saturday Night
Another bitterly cold night with lows of -3 to -5 C. There will be widespread severe frost with icy roads and some freezing fog.
Sunday
Sunny spells in the morning will gradually clear frost and fog. Staying cold with highs of just 4 to 7 C. A slight frost in eastern areas. Temperatures will rise later as cloud and rain spreads across the country from the west.
