The bad weather looks set to continue over the coming days. Met Eireann is forecasting "very unsettled weather" across the country with below normal temperatures up until Sunday. However, conditions are expected to improve from Monday.

On their website, Met Eireann posted: "Very unsettled weather continuing up to and including Sunday next, but current indications suggest that it will become mainly dry and settled from Monday onwards. Temperatures will vary from day to day, but overall, it will be relatively cool, with below normal values."

Today in Dublin, there will be a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers that will ease by this evening with highs of 14 or 15 degrees.

You can check out the day-by-day breakdown for the national outlook below:

Mainly dry at first, but there'll be outbreaks of rain in parts across the morning and afternoon turning heavy at times in south Leinster and Munster. Cold with maximun temperatures of 10-13 degrees. Saturday night will be cloudy and wet with lows of 6-10 degrees.

Sunday

There'll be widespread rain at first, heavy in places, but it will brighten up with some sunny spells. It will be windy at times but they will ease as the day goes on.  Cool again with maximum temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.
