People around the world are taking to twitter hash tagging 'World Milk Day'.
People are tweeting pictures of themselves raising up a glass of milk to celebrate the calcium orientated day.
The first World Milk Day was held in 2001 and since then every year people are recognizing the work done from milking the cows to pouring that drop in your tea every morning.
It's a social media salute to all the local dairy farmers.

Other people are taking the opportunity to make people aware of animal cruelty and discussing the options of other types of milk such as soy and coconut.
One of the easiest changes you can make is switching to a plant based milk. #WorldMilkDay 🄠pic.twitter.com/OyH29fazSK
