We've been doing it wrong
Who knew there was a wrong way to put ice cream in the freezer? Luckily the experts Ben & Jerry's are here to save the day.
The debate started when a woman claimed that storing your ice cream upside down stops it from forming crystals.
It was soon discovered that Ben & Jerry's recommend doing this on their website.
It says:
'Freezer burn may be your ice cream’s worst foe. Spare yourself from experiencing this culinary catastrophe: store your pint upside down somewhere deep in the freezer (never in the door).'
'Of course, the other popular way to beat the burn is… eat the whole pint!'
The ice cream giant has a number of useful tips on their website including running your scooper under the hot tap for a few minutes before scooping.
They also say keeping your tub in an air sealed bag means your tub will be soft serve straight out of the freezer!
