For the first time ever, more people are now using Snapchat than Twitter.
The app has overtaken Twitter and its 140 million active daily users, adding 40 million accounts in the last six months alone.
Snapchat, which only came to life five years after Twitter, has 110 million daily users in December. The figures were revealed by Bloomberg, which claims the numbers were shared by "people familiar with the matter".
Over the past year or so, the app has made some major changes like introducing new filters, face-swapping and location tags.
Some of the most popular Snapchat users in Ireland include James Kavanagh, Suzanne Jackson and James Patrice.
Snapchat was created at Stanford University, and began life known as Picaboo before undergoing a major redesign and name change.
