Met Eireann Issues Weather Warning For Entire Country On Friday

Met Eireann has issued a weather warning for the whole country. The status Yellow alert will be in place from Friday at 6am-8pm.

The forecaster said: "Very windy on Friday with possibly storm force winds along parts of the coast."

Today in Dublin will be dry with sunny spells and highs of 8 or 9 degrees. There will be some heavy, thundery rain tonight with hail and sleet in places. Clear weather will follow with frost and icy patches in places. Lows of 0-2 degrees.

Frost will clear on Thursday morning. Tomorrow will be mainly dry with some sunny spells. Highs of 9 or 10 degrees.

The weather is expected to take a turn on Thursday night across the country.

National Outlook:

Thursday Night: Wet and blustery with outbreaks of rain and fresh, gusty winds. Winds will become very string near south and west coasts overnight. Lows of 3 ti 6 degrees.

Friday: Very windy with strong gale force winds and severe gusts. Winds will veer west by early afternoon and will continue string and then ease. Heavy showers are expected in parts in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees.

Friday night: Breezy with clear spells and scattered showers.

Saturday: Bright and breezy with sunny spells and scattered showers. Highs of 6 to 9 degrees.

Saturday night: Cold with clear spells and with frost and icy patches developing.

Sunday: Cold and bright with sunny spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees.

Sunday night: Cold with a sharp frost and icy patches developing.
