Instagram has confirmed that it's working on introducing live video.
Speaking to the Financial Times, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom said:
"Live is really exciting for us. I think it can enhance what we’re doing. If I’m trying to strengthen relationships with someone I love, them streaming video to me live would be an amazing way to be closer to them."
There’s no word on when the feature will be rolled out or how it will work. However, leaked images from a Russian news site show that the live streaming button will appear at the top of the page with a 'LIVE' banner.
It's also unclear whether Instagram streaming will tie in with Facebook Live.
Instagram introduced Snapchat-style stories back in August, which last 24-hours.
