Instagram users are now able to share live videos as part of their 'story'. Up until now, live videos disappeared once the session ended. However in an update to the app, users can save their live session for up to 24 hours in the Stories area.
The move could spell more bad news for Snapchat, which has avoided using live video. According to Mashable, Instagram's Stories now have 250 million daily active users.
A recent study by social analytics company Delmondo also revealed that engagement with Snapchat Stories declined by 50 percent in June compared to the same time last year.
