Dublin Weather: Temperatures To Drop & Sleet Forecast

Winter has officially arrived. According to Met Eireann, temperatures will drop to -1 in Dublin tonight and tomorrow night.

The forecaster is also predicting sleet and possibly snow on higher ground this week.

Tuesday

Today will start sunny. However, it will become cloudier this afternoon with outbreaks of showery rain.

Highs of 7 to 9 degrees in fresh, gusty winds.

Tonight will be mainly dry and cold with clear spells. Frost will develop as temperatures fall between -1 and +2 degrees. Cloud and drizzle will develop by Wednesday morning.

Wednesday

Tomorrow will be a cold and cloudy day with some patchy drizzle. Rain and sleet will spread from the southwest tomorrow evening.

Highest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.

National Outlook

Wednesday Night 

Wednesday night will be cold and breezy with outbreaks of rain that will turn increasingly wintry over Leinster and Munster with snow on hills and mountains.

Met Eireann says the rain and sleet will clear southwards overnight with clear periods following.

Frost and icy patches will develop. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +2 degrees.

Thursday 

Thursday is expected to be cold, dry and bright with good sunshine. Some showers are expected in the northwest and southeast.

Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees.

Thursday night will be cold with frost.

Friday 

Friday will be another bright and cold day. Most areas will be dry with a few showers in the northwest and southeast.

Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees. A sharp frost will develop on Friday night.

Saturday 

Saturday will start off dry but rain will spread from the west across the country in the afternoon and evening, turning into sleet in places.

Very cold with highs of just 3 to 7 degrees.

Rain and sleet will continue on Saturday night with snow developing on higher ground.
