The winner of Budweiser's Dream Big competition has been revealed. Eugene Horan has been chosen to chase his dream of starring in a Hollywood blockbuster movie.
US actress Rosario Dawson took time out on American Independence day to share the exciting news via social media.
From the inspirational mix of close to 4,000 dreams entered, ranging from visiting some of America’s most iconic landmarks, to becoming an astronaut, or developing an app, Eugene has come out on top in the final round of the competition that saw four finalists go head to head in a public vote.
With a prize fund of €50,000 and his best bud by his side, this summer is going to be one to remember, as they head stateside for a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Revealing the winner, Rosario Dawson said, “The winner of the Budweiser Dream Big competition is Eugene Horan. Congratulations! Your determination and hard work has paid off. We can’t wait to see you living your dream over here in the States. Also, congratulations to everyone who took part in the competition - all the entrants, finalists and people who voted, remember to keep dreaming BIG! And finally thank you again to Ireland for the warm welcome. You are amazing!”
Not an easy win, Eugene was up against three equally passionate and enthusiastic finalists including drummer Stuart Hennessy from Dublin, swing dancer Laura from Cork and festival enthusiast Ciara Gilsenan from Meath.
Speaking about Budweiser Dream Big and the winner, Marketing Lead Muna Nageh said, “We were delighted to announce Eugene as the winner. Eugene captured the essence of this competition, showcasing his passion and putting 110% into making his dream come true. We’ll be following Eugene and Basia’s dream in the States, while hopefully inspiring others to continue chasing theirs. The response to this year’s Dream Big campaign has been phenomenal. We more than doubled the number of entries versus last year and quadrupled the number of votes. We’d like to thank everyone who got involved, from the initial entrants, to our four finalists and the public who really got behind them and voted.”
