A few weeks ago, Brian & Suzanne passed a travel agent in Stephen's Green and asked each other, “who uses a travel agent these days?”

So they invited a travel agent on the show to answer the question and give their top tips for travelling this year.

Claire Doherty of Travel Department and TD Active Holidays was bursting with tips and gave us plenty of brilliant reasons why booking with a travel agent is still a good idea in 2025.

5 Reasons You Should Be Booking With A Travel Agent In 2025:

It can be cheaper
Travel agents have a great relationship with airlines and because of this, they get big discounts you normally wouldn’t get if you booked directly. Their local knowledge can also help you get the best value out of hotel and local attractions.

It saves time!
Researching and booking all the individual components of a holiday can be very time-consuming and often overwhelming.
With their experience, travel agents know what holidays suit what situations, and can take the stress out of booking holidays for families.

Your holiday is protected
Travel agents are very heavily regulated and for that reason, you are guaranteed insurance if any part of your holiday doesn’t go to plan.

They specialise in tailoring holiday packages
Travel agents will have a chat with you to figure out what kind of holiday you’re after, and be able to match it to the packages they offer. With their experience, they can tailor the right holiday to you, based on what you like best.

Invaluable travel knowledge
Knowledgeable and experienced, travel agents can offer advice on everything from airport hacks to the best off-the-beaten-track restaurants. They also have the inside information on the best times to visit destinations and how to get the most out of your time abroad.
Travel agents are well-versed in all travel documents and can assist you with passports, insurance and visas.
