Labour's Ivana Bacik is set to win the Dublin Bay South by-election.
Tallies show Bacik is on course to top the poll finishing comfortably ahead of Fine Gael's James Geoghegan.
It's all over bar the counting at the RDS.
The tally of votes shows Labour's Ivana Bacik will top the poll with around 30% of the vote.
Her campaign manager Duncan Smith says historically it's been a good area for them.
Tallies have Fine Gael's James Geoghegan finishing on 26% - not far behind but he's expected to be less transfer friendly.
Sinn Féin's Lynn Boylan was dominant in the inner city but less so elsewhere and will finish a distant third with about 16% of the vote.
The Greens will be disappointed with Claire Byrne's performance, tallied at 8% of the vote.
But the big loser of the day is Fianna Fáil - the tallies have Deirdre Conroy finishing with less than 5% of the vote, down from 14 in the general election.
The first count is due at around 3pm.
