Killing Eve Won Big At Last Night's BAFTA TV Awards

It was a big night for Killing Eve at the British Academy Television Awards 2019, which took place in London's Royal Festival Hall.

The BBC thriller took home thee trophies including best actress for Jodie Comer and best drama series.

 

Ireland's Fiona Shaw was named best supporting actress for playing Carolyn Martins.

Accepting her award, Shaw said her role in the show was “probably the greatest pleasure of my life.”

She also praised Killing Eve creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge for her "earth-shattering genius and wayward imagination."

Benedict Cumberbatch took home the award for best actor for Patrick Melrose, which was also named best mini-series.

Speaking to the audience, he said: "Oh gosh, I think I'm going to fall over, I'm very used to being a bridesmaid not the bride.

"We all stand on one man's shoulders, the man who wrote the five novels who this is based on,” he said.

"Edward St Aubyn, thank you for your wit, your courage."

Britain's Got Talent won best entertainment show, while I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here won best reality and constructed factual.

Eastenders took home the award for Soap and Continuing Drama.
