Less than 20% of hotel rooms in Dublin and the Mid-West are expected to be occupied for the next two months.
The occupancy rate for the entire country sits at just 24% for September and October, according to a survey from the Irish Hotels Federation.
The federation has warned demand for accommodation is continuing to plummet and that 100,000 tourism jobs are at imminent risk.

In Dublin, just 12% of rooms are expected to be filled.
Paul Gallagher, General Manager of Buswells Hotel in Dublin, says just over a tenth of the capital's beds are expected to be occupied;
"There's a concern about Dublin, particularly because we have a higher number of reported Covid infections.
"This September we're at about 10%.
"It's a significant collapse in our business. You could count the number of hotel rooms occupied in this hotel on one hand at the moment."
