However following on from those reports, Ruth Jones - who cowrites the show with James Corden - shut down any speculation.
The Welsh actress was being interviewed on RTÉ Radio 1 by Oliver Callan and confirmed it was “sadly a rumour”.
But that hasn’t stopped the fans from living in hope!
Joanna Page, who portrays Stacey on the show, was asked about rumours of an upcoming Christmas Special when she was being interviewed on The One Show this week.
