Jack Willis was a surprise omission when Eddie Jones revealed his trimmed-down England squad to face Ireland this Saturday in the Autumn Nations Cup.
The 24-year-old - who was the Players' Player of the Year in the Premiership last season - marked his test debut last Saturday with a try in their 40-0 defeat of Georgia at Twickenham.
However, head coach Eddie Jones has cut 11 players from his 36-man group, with Willis set to return to Wasps ahead of their Premiership opener against Bristol this weekend. Despite his breakthrough season in the Premirship last term, he'll have to be patient to add to his solitary cap, with Jones's back-row options stacked, with any of Tomy Curry, Sam Underhill and Ben Earl all waiting to come back into the team.
Jack Willis is one of three players who featured in the defeat of Georgia who won't be involved this Saturday. Charlie Ewels will return to Bath having started in the second row at Twickenham last weekend, while Joe Marchant is unavailable due to injury.
George Ford also returns, having been unavailable for selection last week due to injury.
Eddie Jones will name his matchday 23 later this week, with Andy Farrell set to show his hand tomorrow afternoon.
