Jack Charlton funeral is underway in Newcastle this afternoon.
Here at home, people are being asked to wear green today.
While every radio station in the country played Put Em Under pressure at 12.30 to coincide with the start of the mass.
There is also a gathering at the Walkinstown roundabout.
That's where iconic footage was captured of fans converging in 1990 when Ireland reached the World Cup semi finals.
Ian Skinner is the manager of the local football club, he says Charlton never forgot where Jack came from:
"He loved the fact that it was a mining town, a hard working, working class town."
"There's a tinge of sadness but I think today is a celebration of a wonderful man."

Give Us A Big Beep To Remember Jack
Gerry Keogh is at the roundabout:
"If you're passing by the area just slow down a bit and give us a big beep."
"Just to remember Big Jack and Italia 90, and all the madness that went with it!"
