People with summer holidays abroad planned are being urged to cancel their bookings, despite the return of international travel this week.
The Chief Medical Officer says a "worrying trend" is emerging, with Covid-19 cases increasing, and new clusters being identified.
One of the clusters was located in the north west and was linked with travel to Iraq.
No new deaths were reported last evening, but 24 more cases were confirmed. At least six were associated with international travel.
Dr Tony Holohan wants people, who have foreign holidays planned, to reconsider;
"People will have made bookings and I think it makes much more sense to not go ahead with that booking than to risk travelling abroad, picking up this infection, the risks for you, for any family members travelling with you or indeed any close contacts that you would have when you come back."
WHO advice
Meanwhile the World Health Organisation is advising people living in Ireland not to go on holiday abroad this year.
Yesterday it warned that the worst of the coronavirus is yet to come.
The Government is currently putting together a list of countries the public can fly to without having to quarantine when they return.
