A man is due in court later after a baby girl was allegedly left alone in a car in Dublin for up to 10 hours.
A massive garda search was launched in Clondalkin on Saturday night.
The Irish Daily Star reports a man walked into Clondalkin Garda Station at around 2am on Saturday.
He said a 10 month old baby girl was alone in a car which was parked somewhere in north Dublin.
A massive garda search was launched with gardai able to focus on a 5 kilometre area.
Officers then searched cars one by one until the baby was found at around 4am.
It's understood the child was taken to Temple Street Children's Hospital but received a clean bill of health.
A man has been arrested and charged and is due in court later.
Gardaí said in a statement: ''Gardaí in Clondalkin investigating an alleged offence under the Children’s Act 2001 have charged a male to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice (CCJ), Court No. 4, on Monday 23rd October 2023 at 10.30am.
As a person has been charged to appear before Court and the investigation involves a child An Garda Síochána is not in a position to provide any further comment.''
