IKEA is re-opening in Dublin on Monday.
The retailer is opening its store in Ballymun, and its Order and Collection Point in Carrickmines.
It's introducing enhanced safety measures including limited customer numbers and staggered entry system
Social Distancing Wardens will help customers find their way around the new one-way system and ensure social distancing is being followed, and customers are advised to be prepared with lists and their own bags.
All play areas will remain closed, along with the restaurant and cafe.
Martyn Allan, Market Manager, Dublin, says: “We’re looking forward to warmly welcoming customers and co-workers back into our stores in the Republic of Ireland from 8th June.
“Their health and safety remains our top priority, and that’s why we’ve put in place extensive measures to ensure the safety and comfort of customers and co-workers.
“While the experience might be a little different to before – it’s the same IKEA, with the same vision to “create a better everyday life for the many people”, and the ambition to inspire people through our brilliant affordable range and home furnishing solutions.
“Throughout lockdown, we’ve had the unique privilege of being a part of people’s everyday lives at home, and we want to thank our co-workers and customers for their support over the recent weeks.”
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, IKEA has been supporting its local communities in the UK and Ireland with €1.5m worth of product donations. In Ireland, IKEA has partnered with the Irish Red Cross to distribute 500 comfort and care packs to families in need and has donated 400 play packs through its charity partner Barnardos Ireland to vulnerable children.
