Clamping is to begin again for hospital staff in Dublin city.
They had been exempt from paying for on-street parking around hospitals or health centres. The step was taken in March to help frontline workers during the pandemic.
However the head of Dublin city council says the measure can not be sustained and will end on August 31st, according to the Irish Times.
Owen Keegan told councillors that there has been an increased demand for on-street parking recently, leading to some residents with permits unable to park at or close to their homes.
Health care staff had been able to display a copy of their ID or a note from a hospital of GP practice in order to avoid enforcement by clampers.
