They're back
Hocus Pocus 2 has wrapped filming and will premiere on Disney+ this Halloween, according to executive producer Adam Shankman.
The sequel to the hit 1993 film, which sees Max Dennison (Omri Katz) accidentally resurrect a coven of evil witches known as the Sanderson Sisters (played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy), sees three young women accidentally free the witches once again, in modern-day Salem.
Directed by Anne Fletcher and written by Jen D’Angelo, Hocus Pocus 2 also stars Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham, franchise fan-favorite Doug Jones, Dan Finnerty, Sam Richardson, Whitney Peak and Tony Hale.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Shankman wrote, “SISTAAAAAHHHHSSS! Aaaaand that’s a WRAP!!! #hocuspocus2. Congratulations to the amazing team…and the WHOOOOLLLEEEE cast and crew!!! Coming to you #halloween #2022 on @disneyplus.”
While the film’s release date has yet to be officially announced, Disney confirmed in a statement to Variety that Hocus Pocus 2 will debut “at some point during the Halloween season this fall.”
