Phase two of lifting Covid-19 restrictions next Monday is likely to be recommended to government, when the National Public Health Emergency Team meets later.
They will discuss the roadmap for gradually reopening, when visiting can resume in nursing homes, whether playgrounds could operate next week and if summer camps should go ahead.
Ministers will sign off on their recommendations tomorrow, before an announcement is made.
Chief medical officer Tony Holohan, says this morning's meeting will try to make the restrictions easier on children and parents;
"We'll consider a range of things that I hope will add up to further support and further easing if you like, in particular for children, because we are concerned about the impact of all of this for children."
Death toll
The Covid-19 death toll stands at 1,659.
That's after a further 3 people died. While there have been 25,111 confirmed cases.
Unemployment payment
The Pandemic Unemployment Payment is to be cut by 42 per cent for part-time workers.
The Irish Independent reports the €350 a week payment will be reduced to the Jobseeker's allowance rate of €203.
The payment for full-time workers will be phased out over time.
The emergency scheme is to due to end on Monday, but is set to be extended.
