A senior firefighter says incidents with fireworks and illegal bonfires are decreasing thanks to the work of community groups.
It comes as Gardaí have warned anyone caught with illegal fireworks, they will be brought to court.
Authorities are preparing for an increase in anti-social behaviour as communities get ready for Halloween.
However, Assistant Chief Fire Officer with the Dublin Fire Brigade Greg O'Dwyer says dangerous incidents are becoming less frequent every year.
"From our perspective, thankfully it's getting better and that's thanks to all the really hard work of the local authorities and community groups.
"We now have these organised events, these safe and controlled events where people can enjoy them away from the dangers of illegal fireworks and bonfires."
