Cabinet Ministers will sign off on new plans later to reopen indoor dining for restaurants and pubs.

New legislation will allow fully vaccinated people or those who’ve recovered from Covid to eat and drink indoors.

The reopening is expected between the 19th and the 26th of July.

Owner of The Bank on College Green in Dublin, David Chawke, says restaurateur's have been left with little choice but to get on board.

"It appears to be a very take it or leave it approach by Government."

He said he's eager to see indoor dining resume.

Unvaccinated Expected To Dine Indoors

Under the proposals, unvaccinated children will be allowed inside pubs and restaurants when they fully reopen.

They'll have to be accompanied by an adult who is either fully vaccinated or has recently recovered from Covid-19 infection

Adrian Cummins from the Restaurants Association has welcomed the proposal.

He says allowing families to eat together indoors will be important this summer, as "staycations" get into full swing.
