Google has abandoned plans to rent more office space in Dublin.
The tech giant has decided not to take out a lease on the Sorting Office in Grand Canal Dock.
It's believed the building would have capacity for up to 2,000 staff members.
"After much deliberation, Google has decided not to proceed with leasing the Sorting Office. We are grateful to Mapletree for all their work with us, and wish them well in the successful letting of this excellent office building" a spokesperson for the firm said.
Google already employs 8,000 people in Ireland.
The former An Post site was redeveloped into a 7-storey office block, spanning 202,000 sq ft.
The company said in July that most of its employees will be allowed to work from home until July 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The spokesperson went on to say it's committed to Ireland and continues to invest in it's operations here.
