Gardai who cancelled thousands of 999 calls are still answering emergency calls from the public.
It's after the Garda Commissioner admitted over 3,100 calls about domestic violence had been marked cancelled, with 600 of them not receiving an appropriate policing response.
It's since been reported Garda staff implicated in the scandal still remain in their positions.
Sinn Féin spokesperson for Justice Martin Kenny says the individuals responsible should be held to account.
"The truth is, this was not human error, this was human intention that cancelled these calls."
Deputy Kenny says the people who were involved should at least be stood aside pending a full and formal investigation.
"The thousands of people who made those calls, while in distress deserve better, and the public deserves better."
He believes the only way to re-establish confidence in An Garda Síochána following this issue is to see clear repercussions for the people involved.
