There's been an increase in the number of murders in Dublin this year, to 17, up from 14 for the same period in 2019.
That's according to figures released by gardai at today's Joint Policing Committee meeting, which also show the number of fatal road traffic collisions in the capital increased by 4 this year.

Gardai say there's been a 30 per cent increase in the number of incidents of people driving while intoxicated, which has come about due to an increase in drug driving.
The number of drug detection offences are up by 19 per cent, while the number of incidents of sale and supply of drugs increased by 23 per cent.
Gardai say there have been 179 protests in Dublin since the pandemic began in March.
They're also reporting an increase in aggravated burglaries, weapon detections, and possession of drugs for personal use.
