Garda management is being called on to address concerns by gardaí over a lack of support.
It says the force is failing to tackle the problem, that's the view of the Garda Representative Association.
The comments follow three gardaí describing the impact of work stress on their health and wellbeing.
They told yesterday's Irish Daily Mail there was a lack of support in difficult circumstances.
GRA President, Brendan O'Connor, says some members have left the force due to pressure.
Mr. O'Connor, says management must listen to gardaí's concerns.
"Well the first thing that needs to be done, is acknowledge that there's a problem, and address it in a meaningful way, by speaking to ourselves - as a collective voice of the membership - and speaking to individual members who raise concerns.
Because a common thread through the different experiences that were articulated yesterday, was when people actually ask for help, they were ignored."
