A man has been arrested after a high-speed Garda chase from Tallaght to Portloaise.
It began when a driver refused to stop for officers who were called to a disturbance in Killinarden Heights late last night.
During the chase, a garda car was rammed but no one was injured.
A man in his thirties arrested forty minutes later and 85 kilometres away is being held at Tallaght Garda station.
Gardai said "A male in his 30s was arrested near Carn, Portlaoise shortly after 3am this morning".
It followed "an incident of criminal damage in Killinarden Heights in Tallaght earlier".
Gardai said the man "earlier failed to stop", and is "currently detained at Tallaght Garda Station".
