Fury thinks Ruiz will beat Joshua again

Tyson Fury is backing Andy Ruiz Junior to repeat his shock world heavyweight title victory over Anthony Joshua in their re-match.

Ruiz inflicted the first defeat professional defeat of Joshua's 23-fight career at Madison Square Graden via a seventh-round stoppage, landing Joshua's IBF, WBA and WBO belts in the process.

He's become the first Mexican world heavyweight champion and the pair will meet again later this year after Joshua invoked his clause for a re-match.

Fury's told ESPN that he thinks Ruiz can back up the New York win in that bout, which is expected to be in November or December.

"I looked at Joshua and I seen that he didn’t want to be in the ring on the night. He was looking away he had other things on his mind.

“From round one I could see what was going to happen. I looked at Joshua and he didn’t have no water, no sweat on him and I thought this guys is going to get knocked out.

"His (Joshua's) style and his (Ruiz) style aren’t made to go together and Andy will always beat AJ in my opinion."

Lineal world heavyweight champion Fury has also mocked Joshua for the defeat.

“He’ll never live it down, can you imagine?

“You’re built like an Adonis, you’re six-foot-six, you’re ripped, carved in stone, and a little fat man who has eaten every Snickers and Mars bar in California comes in there and bladders you all over? What a disgrace.

“If that was me, I would never show my face in public ever again.”

Fury is preparing for a bout against Tom Schwarz at the MGM Grand on June 15th as part of his preparations for a likely second meeting with WBC champion Deontay Wilder early next year.
