The Government's revealed the locations of five walk-in Covid testing centres.

The pop up centres are opening in locations in Dublin and Offaly where cases have been high.

The aim of these pop up centres is to try and get a feel for how and why Covid is spreading faster in certain areas.

1 in 5 have people with Covid present with no symptoms at all so it’s to try and find these people and understand the transmission levels.

Four are in Dublin - the National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown, the Grangegorman Primary Care Centre car park, Tallaght Stadium and Irishtown Stadium.

The other is in Tullamore, Co Offaly.

Case Numbers

Liz Canavan from the Department of Taoiseach says the locations are where Covid cases have been high.

The centres will open tomorrow from 11 until 7 and remain open for a week and you don’t need an appointment.

People who have no symptoms of Covid and are within 5km of these locations can attend.

While anyone with symptoms of Covid is being asked not to go to these centres but to phone their GP.
