A former Garda has been sentenced to six months with three suspended for domestic abuse related offences.
It follows an investigation by GSOC.
The former officer submitted a guilty plea back in July, to trespass and assault causing harm to his ex partner.
GSOC says the offences were committed while the man was a serving member of An Garda Siochana.
He was sentenced at the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin today.
GSOC says it provides an independent investigation service for members of the public who wish to complain about the behaviour of An Garda Síochána.
GSOC says it encourages anyone who has been the subject of abuse from a domestic partner – or ex-partner – who is a Garda to contact GSOC so it can be investigated.
