A five year old girl is recovering in hospital after being swept out to sea at Portmarnock Beach.
Emergency services were called to the scene yesterday afternoon after the girl got into difficulty on an inflatable lilo.
A member of the public alerted emergency services at 2.20pm.
The Irish Coastguard was notified, as well as units from Howth RNLI, and the Dublin Fire Brigade.
The girl was brought to shore by three teenagers who noticed her in difficulty, as emergency services arrived at the scene.
Paramedics treated the young girl at the beach, before she was taken to Temple Street Children's Hospital.
Her condition is described as non life threatening.
