Climate change protesters have glued themselves to the doors of a government building in Dublin.
Five activists from the Extinction Rebellion group have used superglue to form a chain blocking the door of the Department of Communcations and Climate Action on Adelaide Road
It comes as People Before Profit's Bríd Smith said yesterday she's bringing a legal challenge over the government's move to block her Climate Emergency Bill.
Environment Minister Richard Bruton insists a ban on extracting oil and gas wouldn't cut carbon emissions.
Paul McCormack-Cooney from Walkinstown in Dublin says he felt he had to take direct action.
"It probably sounds pretty mad," he said. "If you'd asked me this time last year that I'd be doing this this time this year I would have said you were mad.
"But then the IPCC, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, came out with their shocking report that we have 12 years to avert a global catastrophe. From that time I've looked at what I could do," he said.

"We could be here for an hour or two or we could be here for many more hours," he said.
