Five teenagers have been arrested following a car chase in Lucan yesterday evening.
Gardai were called to the scene near Adamstown at about ten past five last evening to respond to an incident.
Officers attempted to stop a car there, but the driver fled the area at speed, in the direction of Lucan Village.
Further support from the Garda Helicopter was requested to assist in the operation.
Shortly afterward the chase ended suddenly when the car collided with the back of another vehicle in Lucan Village.
Nobody was injured, but a search uncovered an imitation gun.
All five teenagers were arrested, but have since been released without charge.
Files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
