Dublin Bus's new BusConnects network will begin operating from today.
The H route is the first service that will run, departing from Howth and serving areas including Baldoyle, Raheny and Malahide.
It's part of a major overhaul of the service's network.
Feljin Jose (PRON: Fel-gin Jo-say) from Dublin Commuter Coalition says the improved service has been a long time coming.
"We've been talking about this for the best part of three years I think."
"So it's definitely positive to see progress on it now, to show people how good the services can actually be."
He says there's, "a long way to go," and he'd like to have seen it implemented more quickly.
230 kilometres of bus priority lanes and 16 new bus corridors formed part of the major overhaul.
The C-spine route will be the next to launch, with it's first service expected to run in October, from Lucan out as far as Kildare.
