The destruction of the Public Record Office in 1922 during the Civil War will be remembered at a special exhibition in Dublin today.
The Irish Architectural Archive has provided photographs, maps and video to commemorate the Battle of the Four Courts and the loss of many historical documents.
This day 100 year ago, an explosion was heard at the Four Courts where the office was located as the area was being occupied by Anti Treaty forces.
The resulting fire destroyed the building and many of the records that were being kept there.
Minister for Culture Catherine Martin says the exhibition's to honour staff for their work in preserving salvaged records.
