Eight people have been injured after a bus crashed into a Luas in Dublin city centre this morning.
The tram was derailed in the crash at the corner of Queen Street and Benburb Street just after 7am.
Gardaí have confirmed that up to eight people have been taken to hospital following the crash, and the Red Line remains closed at Smithfield.
It is believed the driver of the tram and a number of Luas employees were among those taken to hospital.
Emergency services are at the scene and the junction has been sealed off by Gardaí.
The road has been closed and diversions are in place.
Gardaí said it will be up to four hours before the scene is cleared.
Luas operator Transdev has said that due to the crash Red Line services are only operating between Tallaght/Saggart and Blackhorse.
There is no service between Blackhorse and Connolly/The Point.
All tickets are valid on Dublin bus services operating near the Red Line.
Luas has apologised for any inconvenience.
