Half a million euro in cash has been seized after five searches in Dublin and Cavan.
Gardai targeting members of an organised crime group suspected to be involved in large scale trafficking of controlled drugs, and associated money laundering, carried out the searches yesterday.
Five premises in Co Cavan and on the northside of Dublin city were searched.
A man in his late 30s has been arrested and is detained at Navan Garda Station.
Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll, Organised and Serious Crime says: "This operation demonstrates the continued determination of An Garda Síochána to target organised crime through stopping the flow of money suspected to be proceeds of crime and which provides the motivation for organised crime groups to trade in drugs."
