Almost a million euro in cash and drugs has been seized in Dublin.
A car was stopped and searched in Tallaght at around 6.15pm on Saturday evening. During the course of the search Gardaí seized a quantity of cannabis herb and €800 in cash.
One man, aged in his late 30s, was arrested at the scene and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the capital.
During follow-up searches, two premises were searched under warrant in Tallaght and Lucan. Quantities of cannabis herb, cannabis resin and cannabis plants, estimated to be worth more than €900,000, was seized.
A man in his late 40s was arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda station in Dublin.
Both men have since been charged and appeared before Tallaght District Court yesterday morning.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
